Pro 12:11 Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense., Pro 13:11 Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
This goes against create your reality by what you speak, claim to receive, blurb and grab preaching. A prosperity preacher may not like these verses because there are no shortcuts to blessings as seen in Psa 1, Josh 1:8. The truth is, God is more about crowning faithfulness than success. It’s in faithfulness that character, patience, endurance, humility etc are built.
Every man has his land to till, or some calling, work, or business, to be employed in, either civil or sacred and needs to be diligent therein. Jacob served Laban his father in-law faithfully for over 20 years. 10 times Laban changed Jacob’s wages and tried to cheat him out of his hard work. The Lord stepped in and fought for Jacob, Gen 31:42 “Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.” The Lord hates shortcuts, laziness and unfairness by deceit. He that gathers by honest labor shall increase, Ecc 2:24 “Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God.”
