2Co 12:9-10, 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 … For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Grace is appropriately the free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him. The word “G.R.A.C.E” has been cleverly used as acronym to read “God’s Rescue At Christ’s Expense”. It also “G.RACE” that is “God’s Race”.
By grace through faith we are saved, but it’s work is not done at salvation, it’s work of preservation continues, seen more clearly in times of weakness. As with Paul, God’s strength was most illustriously displayed by the weakness of the instrument He was working through. It is in a weak vessel that His power has its most perfect manifestation. 2Co 4:7 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” (ESV). 2Ch 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” (NKJV). His strength is made perfect in our weakness, thus where His grace is manifested and magnified. He ordains His praise out of the mouths of babes and sucklings.
