Psa 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
God’s anger is short-lived to those who, having sinned, repent, and confess their sin, and pray for mercy. God’s favor, on the contrary, is enduring; it continues all their life. This is the ground for our holding on to Him through the night without quitting for He does not quit on us. The number one response I get from people facing challenges is “I’m hanging in there” but that to me sounds like barely making it. A believer should confess, “I am standing in there” on the promises of God. When you have done all you need by the grace of God, “STAND” “…Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you” (2Ch 20:17).
We can finish strong regardless of how rough it is. The same God who has given us the grace to make it this far is the same God who will bring us through to the end. They say that dawn is the darkest time of the night, however, it’s an indication that daylight is just around the corner if we can stand a little while. Praise be to God, our victory is not based on WHEN, it’s based on WHO.
