Jam 1:2-4, 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing
Faith patiently develops through stages of life, and matures belivers to stand through anything having been equiped to lack nothing. Fireproof safes are designed to withstand fire in order to protect any valuables stored in them. Our joy ought to be safe guarded from the fire of afflictions.
The view of afflictions as light enables believers to hold on tight to Christ and count it all joy while looking forward to blessed hope which cannot be compared to the current suffering. 1Pe 4:12-14 “12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, …;14 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy” May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering as we become partakers in the fellowship of His suffering for the glory of His name. The joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh 8:10).
