Pro 20:7 The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him
Faith by far is the greatest gift you can pass to your children which starts with your walk. Parents ought to set the tone of their children’s spiritual life. Family worship both at home and Church provides that learning ground as they sit with you, watch you worship, pray, relate to your spouse, read, work etc. This is important because they learn by your lifestyle more than your words. How you live as a parent leads them to discover and learn why you do what you do while you trust God for their salvation.
The presence of children is also a driver to deeper spiritual growth. Suppose you are assigned to teach a class, would that not drive you to prepare, study, do research, learn ahead of time before attempting to teach? Would you not be exposed to truths you had not learned? This is part of learning by teaching and being all God wants you to be before His children. He has entrusted His talents to your care therefore It is your primary responsibility to disciple your children, not the Church. Joshua set the tone, “…But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord” (Josh 24:15).
