Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you
The promise is made that if we seek first God’s kingdom, and its righteousness, all earthly needs will be supplied. Note the use of the word “added” vs “given” which means that His kingdom first is the most important, everything else is addition/gravy in the light of the first clause.
Rom 13:17-18 clarifies what that means, “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men”. As priority we singly aim at this, that God reigns in our hearts, that we may be more righteous, more at peace and more joyous, the summary of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23). God’s priority is to change us more than change our situations. We daily need Divine kingdom invasion. If we set this as priority, God will add to us other things we need. Luk 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
