2Chr 20:18-19, 18 And Jehoshaphat…and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. 19 Then the Levites… and…the Korahites stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with voices loud and high
It is vital to stop and meditate on the greatness of God by His word and deeds. Jeremiah resolved to size up God first before sizing his problems, He acknowledges God’s abilities by his phrase, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You” (Jer 32:17). Similar to David, ”I will sing of the steadfast love of the LORD, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.” (Psa 89:1). These men chose to praise God while facing fears, ascribing to God’s greatness. The Lord inhabits the praises of His People.
Jehoshaphat, Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem took God at His word. They praised and worshipped Him for His faithfulness. Despite still battling fear within, they became convinced that salvation was of the Lord. The world may teach you to sing and celebrate after victory, here we are to sing because He is Victorious.
