2Chr 20:1-30, 12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.
Confidence and wisdom are noticed when you know what to do in a situation. What happens when you just don’t know what to do? when your knowledge, abilities, resources and wisdom falls short, and those expected to have answers are also stuck? That is king Jehoshaphat’s story many of us identify with. He teaches us how to respond in defeat.
It starts out with, vs. 2, “…A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar”. The GREAT multitude were the Ammonites, the Moabites, and others from Syria coming AGAINST them. The people of God will always have enemies working against them. This well equipped king with troops reached a meltdown point as everything he knew how to handle fell short. As a family we have been here and needed God’s divine intervention and still do.
