Heb 11:8-10, 8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going…
The journey of faith is to take God at His word and wait for His timing without doubting His love. Abraham while in Ur was commanded to go where he should be led. In obedience to this call he obeyed through faith, a striking example of the action of faith. He further trusted God’s promise at an old age for a son. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise. He was a stranger in the land promised to him and his seed, dwelling as did Isaac and Jacob, in tents, yet trusting the promise of God.
Faith can lay hold of blessings at a great distance and make them present realities. God’s call is effectual, He makes us His children, heirs of His inheritance. This inheritance may not be immediately possessed but held on by faith. The faith of parents often procures blessings for their posterity therefore have faith in God for you and your children.
