2Ch 15:3-4, 3 For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law; 4 but when in their trouble they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them
Despite Israel turning away from God, God never failed to open His arms of love to His people when they repented and called upon His name. God promised the same to Asa if he continued to seek him.
Our nation will be blessed if God is the Lord of it and if we return to God. Jer 2:13 “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water” (NIV). Do we want God’s way or our way? Our nation is currently demonstrating it wants its own way. A child who insists on crossing the busy highway his way is unaware of the dangers he is exposing himself to. Asa chose God’s way, vs. “8 When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Azariah son of Oded the prophet, he took courage…” That is our hope, tearing down what has stood in the way and building what brings us back and keeps us abiding in the Lord. Psa 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance”.
