He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

History To Avoid Repeating

2Ch 15:3 For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law;…”(a)

To demonstrate that God always heard the cry of His people despite their rebellion, the prophet brought to memory of these things to king Asa.

In the days of the book of Judges, Israel had no true God, no good teachers to turn them to God. They basically had no moral compass. This resulted into Israel worshipping Baal,“… they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt …and they provoked the Lord to anger” (Jdg 2:11-12). The Lord was with the judges, He raised and saved Israel from the hands of their enemies, Yet they would not listen to their judges, but they played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked,...”, (Jdg 2:17). The people returned to more corrupt ways than those of their fathers, serving false god’s. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.

The lesson that is worth mentioning is that those who do not to learn from bad history are bound to repeat it, and it is deadly and costly.
