Mark 5:24 So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him
Jairus’ call to Jesus was like a 911 call and help was on the way. Jesus then left all to accompany him. Everything was running as planned, however in vs. 25, the story takes a dramatic shift to focus on a woman with an issue of blood for 12 years. She came near Jesus and by faith touched the hem of His garments and was healed. At that point Jesus stopped to inquire who touched Him.
The woman’s condition was not life threatening compared to his daughter, Jairus must have felt. She interrupted Jesus’ mission of reaching his dying daughter. How would you react if paramedics on their way to your rescue stopped halfway to help someone else with a lesser condition? Sometimes we pray desperate prayers and it feels like the Lord is reaching everybody but the one with immediate need. Interruption means delays, delays opens doors to frustrations, frustrations test your faith. Our faith in God should not be driven by our time, but confidence in God and His timing.
