Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
The way of the righteous is considered by his influences. Psa 1:1 lays out one considered blessed, it is he who walks, stands, and sits’ not (conformed, comply) with the counsel, ways, and fellowship of the world. Conformed is replaced with transformed (dramatic change in the form), a continual change in you by the renewing (refreshing) of your mind. Conversion and sanctification are the agents of renewing the mind, a change not of the substance, but of the qualities of the soul. A change in will, direction, and purpose. This is not a one time but an on going progressive sanctification. Just as the feet of the righteous (clean) gets dirty from time to time and needs cleaning, so is the mind of the righteous.
Knowing the will of God is established on these two, “be not conformed“, “but be transformed” that by use of the Word you may test/prove/discern the perfect (complete) revealed will of God. Christian renewal imparts not only the will and power to do God’s will, but also intelligence to discern, Php 1:9-11, “9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”
