Eph 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
The targeted goal, as already laid out in the last devotional, is unity of the faith. Similarly significant is the growth in the knowledge of God (knowing God) to a perfect man (maturity) into the fullness of Christ (end result).
These words regard the continuance of the Gospel ministry in the church. Believers in pursuit of unity must continue to grow through sound doctrines. Sound doctrine (teaching) is important because what we believe affects who we are and what we do. Conduct is an augmentation of precept/philosophy, and there is an immediate relationship between what we think and how we act.
Presently, some believers state, “we don’t want doctrine, doctrine divides and what divides does not cultivate unity and love. We just want to love and worship Jesus.” While this may sound very spiritual, it is not correct. To love and worship God, truth must take center stage, (Psalm 138:1-3). Sound doctrine unifies and cements our faith and love.
Full unity of the faith will be found when all alike know Christ, that is the spiritual maturity in understanding and actions.

Amen, brother Evans. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. (2nd John vs 9)
