Mat 8:2-3, 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed
A man, not a disciple of Jesus, came to Him seeking to be healed. In his mind, he settled the issue of Christ’s ability to heal, that is faith. The outcome was in His hands, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” And the Lord say, “I am willing; be cleansed.” This man did not look for a faith healer; he went directly to Christ for his healing, So did Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46) and the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8). These individuals were desperate and had faith to be healed. Truly, you can have people pray with you however, if your faith is based on who or how many people, then be reminded of “…the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power” (Eph 1:19).
There lies the need for power for the demonstration. The preaching of the word still lies in the power of God for salvation, but God’s power is not limited to only salvation, He also moves in the areas of healing, provisions, etc. These are incredible declarations to His ability. He is Jehovah Rapha meaning our healer. He can heal instantly, gradually, by medicine, etc. He gets all the credit. He is the one in control of how we get the healing according to His power that works within us. Faith in God can move mighty mountains.
