Psa 5:7 But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.
The Lord ordained a place of sacrifice, a house of His indwelling, and David accepted the type of worship revealed in the Lord’s Word. Even so, true-hearted believers must not fall into the worship of superstition, but worship reverently as the Lord Himself ascribes in His word.
When Christ is exalted, the Word is the means in which God is worshiped.
“13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; … 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you”. (John 16:13-15)
Truth must be the center for worship. The Holy Spirit applies the merit of the Son to the soul by the gospel word.
“We are in danger of slighting Jesus – getting Him ‘lost in the temple,’ by the exaltation of the Holy Ghost and of the gifts of the Spirit. Jesus must be the center of everything…Any work that exalts the Holy Ghost or ‘gifts’ above Jesus will finally end up in fanaticism.” (David Wilkerson)
Let us therefore adore the Lord, praise His holy Name and extol His Holy Word. Let everything be done orderly for God is not the author of confusion.

I didn’t realize that it is possible to separate the trinity in matters of exaltation.
John 16 and Romans 8 helped me understand more of the role of the Holy Spirit. I have another devotional I will send you.
